Trade-in Policies

We gladly accept books in good condition with popular content:

  • children’s books, and young readers
  • young adult
  • mystery, thriller, and horror
  • fantasy, and sci-fi
  • classics
  • general fiction
  • non-fiction

We are always adding to our inventory and would love to consider your trade-ins. You can earn store credit toward our used book inventory, up to 20% of the printed publisher’s price. We do not buy (provide cash) for books.

Due to the small size of our store, we may not be able to accommodate large lots of books. Currently, we are accepting no more than 15 books per visit.

We do not accept:

  • books in poor condition: mold, odor, underlining, writing, highlighting
  • encyclopedias, college textbooks, travel guides, and other similar books that have been made obsolete or out of date since publication
  • hardback books without the dust jacket
  • withdrawn library books
  • Reader’s Digest condensed
  • magazines

We do not accept “donations.” We appreciate the thought, but we are not a thrift store. We try to provide a curated collection of books in good condition with content desired by our patrons. It is not possible for us to accept every book that needs a home, and it is the book-lover’s responsibility to re-home books we choose not add to our inventory. Books we do not accept as store inventory cannot be left on the premises.
