First Thursday’s Book Club 11/8/19

Well what a fun and unusual night at book club! If you couldn’t make it you were missed! Ashley, Christiana and Ruthann came out. We all checked in with the books we enjoyed this month but that didn’t take very long.  Ruthann let us know about a Trivia Night that meets on Thursdays also.  Her team was playing without her last night so she could come to book club, but we learned a lot about her trivia games. After our book discussion we went next door to Brown Chicken, Brown Cow to scope out the trivia scene.  Wow!!! Where has trivia night been all our lives?!  We missed the first hour but still had such a great time. So, let me know if anyone wants to come out next Thursday at 7pm.  Ashley, Christiana and I are PUMPED! I’m down for meeting at 6pm to grab some tasty snacks before the games start. (Ross has already gotten me excited about a highly recommended burger.)

But, back to book club, here’s what we read:

Ruthann read a Swedish thriller, The Ice Princess by Camilla Lackburg.

Christiana read a memior by Maggie O’Farrell, I Am, I Am, I Am: Seventeen Brushes with Death.

Ashley bailed on my pick from last month, Wink Poppy Midnight by April Genevieve Tucholke. But she was back to her “strange fiction” with Will the Cat Eat My Eyeballs? by Caitlin Doughty. Wow, so many strange questions about death!

I caught up with several others with What Alice Forgot by Laine Moriarty. What I really enjoyed, was Stephen King’s latest, The Institute. Interested to hear your thoughts if you check it out Matt Dude!

I hope we can all get together next Thursday! #teambookclub!
