The First Thursday Book Club is off to a great start. We had a great turn out for our first gathering in May, and almost everyone was able to join us again this week. In addition to our original group, we welcomed another member from the Monday group.
These books were read by our members this month:
The Last Anniversary, Liane Moriarty
The Woman in Cabin 10, Ruth Ware
If I am Missing or Dead: A Sister’s Story of Love, Murder, and Liberation, Janine Latus
E-Squared, Pam Grout
The Energy of Money: A Spiritual Guide to Financial and Personal Fulfillment, Maria Nemeth
The Bear, Claire Cameron
In One Person, John Irving
We had a great discussion of these books and authors. Some were traded to be read and discussed further on our next meeting.
Conversations also included some movie references including The Danish Girl, Victor Frankenstein, and the Gray Gardens documentary. We also talked about the physical as well as mental clutter we sometimes encounter in our lives. The “40 Bags” method is explained further here.
If you missed us this Thursday you are more than welcome to join us next time on Thursday July, 5th. The only rules of book club are to bring a book you recently read that you are excited about to discuss and share with the group!
I look forward to seeing you all again next time,
Victoria
