The first book club of 2023!! Here’s to a happy new year of new books to share, fun book club nights, and oxford comma discussions!
Still struggling through my winter book slump, I read You’ll Miss Me When I’m Gone by Rachel Lynn Solomon and The Messy Lives of Book People by Phaedra Patrick.
Ashley reread some favorites: Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey, and Bellman & Black by Diane Sutterfield. I used a colon here Hugh haha.
Hugh read One-Shot Harry by Gary Phillips, Dolphin Junction by Mick Herron (Matt is borrowing) and Safe Houses by Dan Fesperman (Mariya is borrowing.)
Ruthann enjoyed one of my previous picks, Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus (Mariya is borrowing.)
Matt enjoyed a collection of short stories, Sunless Solstice: Strange Christmas Tales for the Longest Nights. He’s currently enjoying The Trial of Lizzie Borden by Cara Robertson.
Mariya read one of Shana’s picks, Good Girl, Bad Blood by Holly Jackson, and enjoyed another one of Sally Hepworth’s The Mother-In-Law. She also read two Jodi Picoult novels: Mad Honey and Vanishing Acts (Ruthann is borrowing.)
Shana continued her Titanic theme with Women and Children First by Gill Paul and also read Murder at Mallowan Hall by Colleen Cambridge.
Happy reading this month and see everyone in February!
