Thanks for coming out last Saturday! I’m glad we were able to find a time that everyone could make it. Catching up for dinner was fun too!
I read The Red Tent by Anita Diamant, The Foundling by Ann Leary, and Ashley/Christiana’s pic, Tin Man by Sarah Winman. I was excited to borrow two Lisa Jewell’s from Shana. I realized I had already read The Third Wife, but I Found You was great. I liked Hugh’s pick, We Lie Here by Rachel Howzell Hall. I hunted down Jason Rekulk’s first book, The Impossible Fortress, and that is in my top 10 for the year, loved it. I hope you’ll read it and enjoy it too Matt.
Shana read several thrillers: The Hunting Party by Lucy Foley, Never Saw Me Coming by Vera Kurian, The Guilt Trip by Sandie Jones, and 56 Days by Catherine Ryan Howard (I’m borrowing.) She also enjoyed Matt’s choice, Hidden Pictures by Jason Rekulak.
Hugh read Girl in the Walls by A.J. Gnuse, Don’t Know Tough by Eli Cranor, and Horns by Joe Hill. He was equally disturbed by my pick last month, The Cabin at the End of the World by Paul G. Tremblay.
Ashley read Nightmare Alley by William Lindsay Gresham and American Hippo: River of Teeth, Taste of Marrow, and New Stories by Sarah Gailey.
Ruthann read The Stranger in the Lifeboat, and non-fiction, Eye of the Storm by Private Robert Knox Sneden. She’s borrowing one of my recent reads, Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus.
Mariya read It Starts With Us by Colleen Hoover and When it Falls Apart by Catherine Bybee.
Christiana enjoyed Shana’s books by Jesse Q. Sutano, Dial A for AUntie and Four Aunties and a Wedding, and one of my favorites, The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto by Mitch Album. She also read Whistling Past the Grave Yard by Susan Crandall (Mariya is borrowing.)
It was great to catch up with everyone as usual. I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving holiday read fast!!! December’s book club is right around the corner. See you all on the 1st!
