The last book club of 2023! It was great to see you all and hear about what you’ve liked (and hated – if you know you know) reading this month.
Mariya read Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity by David Allen and The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston. She and Matt both enjoyed my pick from last month, These Silent Woods by Kimi Cunningham Grant. Thanks for letting me borrow Ban This Book!
Matt enjoyed Ashley’s The Book of Speculation by Erika Sawler, and Chasing the Boogeyman by Richard Chizmar not so much.
Hugh read Pick-Up by Charles Wileford, and Copy Boy by Shelley Blanton-Stroud. Matt is borrowing Everybody Knows by Jordan Harper.
Shana enjoyed Ashley’s pick My Sister the Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite, and Blood on Their Hands by Mandy Matney not so much.
Christiana read NOS4A2 by Joe Hill, and Dead to the World by Charlaine Harris.
Ruthann raided the library for a stack of banned books: Yellowface by R.F. Kuang, Maus: A Survivor’s Tale by Art Spiegelman, Sold by Patricia McCormick, All Boys Aren’t Blue by George M. Johnson, The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison, and Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult.
I read The Little Liar by Mitch Albom, Spells for Forgetting by Adrienne Young, and 1666 by Lora Chilton. I also enjoyed Shana’s pick, The Younger Wife by Sally Hepworth, and Mariya is borrowing She Wouldn’t Change a Thing.
