First Thursday’s Book Club 8/1/19

Thanks everyone for coming out for another fun book club. I’m glad you made it!

Don brought in a collection of books he has enjoyed by Larry McMurty to be shared.

Maria read Shana’s pick from last month, What Alice Forgot  by Liane Moriarty. It sounds like a good one, Ross is taking a look at it this month. She also enjoyed Shana’s last selection, The Paris Seamstress by Natasha Lester.

Matt got to meet the infamous Steve-o and read his book Professional Idiot: A Memoir. We know Ross can’t resist a unique memoir so she is borrowing for the month.

I read David Sadaris’ latest Calypso; much anticipated, but not my favorite.

Shana has been enjoying summer beach reading and brought the whole library. The Husband’s Secret by Laine Moriarty is going home with Maria this month, and I’m borrowing The Perfect Stranger by Megan Miranda. She also read The Chilsbury Ladies’ Chior by Jennifer Ryan, The German Midwife by Mandy Robotham, Bones Never Lie by Kathy Reichs, and Black Widow Forever Red by Margaret Stohl.

Ross read Shana’s Orphan Train by Christina Baker Kline and my pick from last month, Before She Knew Him by Peter Swanson. Matt is borrowing that this month.

Christiana is reading Shana’s pick, How Hard Can it Be by Allison Pearson when she’s not swamped with school work.

Ashley shared The Girl Who Played Go by Shan Sa, The Color Purple by Alice Walker and Lanny by Max Porter.

I’m already looking forward to hearing about everyone’s choices next month! I can’t believe it will be September already … Happy reading!
