Last night was so much fun! Thanks to everyone who helped prepare this surprise party and brought cute decorations and yummy treats. I had a great time celebrating our friend’s special day!
I brought in 3 books from last month that I forgot to bring to the July book club. I shared two more Bridgerton books: Happily Ever After and On the Way to the Wedding (Shana is borrowing) and Greenwich Park by Katherine Faulkner (Mariya is borrowing) This month I read One There Were Wolves by Charlotte McConaghy, The Giver of Stars by Jojo Moyes, and Shana’s pick last month The Paris Apartment. Why were there no vampires??
Ashley read Hurts So Good: The Science and Culture of Pain on Purpose by Leigh Cowart, and The Devourers by Indra Das. Matt is borrowing What Moves the Dead by T. Kingfisher.
Hugh didn’t love HaPenny by Jo Walton but did love Hidden Pictures by Jason Rekulak. Originally Matt’s pick, Hidden Pictures is now on loan to its 4th reader, Shana.
Shana read Radar Girls by Sara Ackerman, Not a Happy Family by Sheri Lapena, and Dial A for Aunties by Jesse Q. Sutano (Christiana is borrowing.) She also joined half of the group who has read Verity by Coleen Hoover. We can all agree all of the characters were terrible people.
Mariya read Shana’s The Night She Disappeared by Lisa Jewell. Also, I’m borrowing On a Quiet Street by Seraphina Nova Glass.
Matt read Hugh’s pick, Galveston by Mic Pizzolatto, and The Valachi Papers by Peter Mass. Also, unfortunately, no vampires.
Christiana read The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, It’s Not Supposed to be This Way by Lysa Terkeust, and Hugh’s pick, Lock Every Door by Riley Sager. She also enjoyed Matt’s pick, The Fairy Tellers by Nicholas Jubber.
What a fun celebration last night! I’m excited about the book I borrowed and to hear what everyone else is reading for August. I hope we will all be able to be together again in September. Have a great month of reading!!
